I did my own toll review, based on usage and cost over the last 5 years. Done at no cost to the taxpayers, in the space of less than 5 minutes and based on common sense, I found that if all tolls were reduced by 50%, they would still be extremely expensive, but at least more manageable, while still leaving generous funding available to manage the roads.. Then, more of the people, who by the way paid for the toll roads, would be able to actually use them and get some benefit. To accommodate the reduced revenue, if needed, cut the Toll Road admin by a corresponding 50%. This would at least get to a revenue level more in keeping with the current economic climate. it would also negate he need to spend upwards of $5 mln on a jolly for a bunch accountants and admin people to get together for very expensive coffee and cookies in some exotic hotel for a few days. Which, by the way, proved to be a complete waste of time, as it gave no useful outcomes, at all.

For a state with 8 million people and hundreds of thousands of kilometres of paved road, am I the only one that thinks 5 million isn’t that high?
