Australia has no Navy - 40 year old tanks - and the F-35 that is only a ground interdiction air craft. This is what - left wing politics has done to Australia. They have no concept the U.S. run down it's military - decades ago. Australia had plenty of warnings - that we had to put a lot more money into our military. And the only wars labor wants - is race - gender - climate.
The problem being - 2% of GDP - is nothing. Really 5% - 10% of GDP - would be required - for decades. We might not have decades - to get ready. The problem being the U.S. has worked against Israel - and given Iran billions of dollars. The U.S. with the Democrats in charge - is to blame - for this war.
Hamas would not have attacked - unless Iran - told them to do it. The U.S. in trying to hold Israel back - wont stop Israel - going at Iran. The U.S. has to accept - either the U.S. takes on Iran - and takes down the - Religious Regime. Or Israel will go the nuclear option. Israel wont blink. And that's something - the Democrats don't understand. This war - is going to expand. It's more then Israel and Iran.
It's Egypt - Jordan - Saudi Arabia and Israel - against - Iran - Iraq - Syria - Lebanon. This war is not going away. This is whether the U.S. likes it or not - not stopping - with the defeat of Hamas in Gaza. This was - the first step - in that process to engage Iran. The U.S. has no control over Israel. The U.S. failures in Ukraine - Afghanistan - Syria - everyone else sees the U.S. as weak.
And it's seems no-one has worked out - the sleepy Joe in the White House - has become - a huge threat to the world. Russia and the Middle East - and the rest of the world - see the U.S. as weak.
Australia - has two major problems.
1. You have to replace all the old equipment - and bad purchase decisions - that have not worked out. Only made worse by liberal and labor future - major defense projects.
2. Besides replace old equipment. You also have to - build more - and build new.
So effectively Australia - has to rebuild it's entire military. We have no missile capability - of any type. And the lesson from Ukraine - is you must be prepared with - a lot more men and equipment - then that has been under funded for decades.
Israel / Iran is showing - conventional missiles - and missile defense - is where modern warfare is headed - and how missiles even conventional ones - still destroy targets.
