How often do the bearings get replaced? How often does the lubricant get replaced? How is the rotation stopped for this process? What kind of platform is used for this servicing to occur? How often do the Turbines need to be repainted? How are these repairs/maintenance done in our Oceans? Does Bowen realise that we will be replacing the first installed Turbines before the last Turbines are installed? Is all this just too much of an impossibility?

The wind they create isn't worth the electricity they use.
@pgreen8531 Says:
There is no climate change just a financial ponzi scheme taking money from taxpayers 😊

As a recently retired emergency service worker I'm surprised that there is not enough discussion about the impact these wind farms have on our ability to respond to fires. One, aerial firefighting is severely limited by the massive physical presence of these structures. Two, ground crews operating beneath, adjacent or anywhere around the turbines face a whole new hazard above them. Both aerial and ground attack are fundamental to first attack and ongoing bushfire/ grass fire control strategies. I would like to hear much more from the current experts on this aspect, Wind farm executives and politicians excepted.

Expensive waste of time and money some body getting rich not the taxpayers

I mean Nuclear & Petroleum power plants dont have safety accidents and are way much safer....till there not.

Farmers beware MLA is looking to put A question in the NVD asking do you have wind and solar as there is a concern about micro plastic shed from blades over time 😅
@Coops777 Says:
High maintenance and construction cost, disturbance to natural bushland, risk of soil erosion due to disturbance and access roads, power poles , wildlife issues. There couldnt be much worse environmental impact than these "green" friendly behemoths

Follow the money 💰. Seriously though who is Making money from this exchange of Australia's dollars. Corparate thievery needs to be made public
@Poorlineforeva Says:
Problems with nuclear power stations can never be swept under the carpet. Chernobyl - 1 trillion dollars and counting

Can someone tell me where the damned electric wires are attached to the windmills because if they are using Tesla’s free energy to send to our houses (which the elite bastards should be doing anyway) then we shouldn’t have to pay expensive electricity bills
@wishbone1282 Says:
the off shore windmills are killing the whales because of the noise they cause on the ocean floor. WE got plenty of oil, drill baby drill!
@frankraw9991 Says:
They need a diesel generator to start them turning, I heard.
@johnnymillican Says:
In Texas they hurt the environment and clutter up the beautiful vistas we used to have. They certainly don’t bring our electricity charges down. They kill eagles, hawks, ravens etc. They blow over from our wind storms. I never seen electric systems attached to any of them since they were put up. Diesel leaks from them. Cattle and wildlife won’t go near them. When they come down they go to landfills where they effect ground water. They are supposed to be good for the environment but are helping to destroy it. The bottom line is they are not environmentally safe but they do help raise the wealth of the oligarchs

Australians are waking up to this renewable rubbish pushed by Albo and the Labor Government.
@brianjohnston6716 Says:
It is well known the bearings fail because of harmonics.
@colinpeacock7648 Says:
An utter waste of time and money which in the end will prove to be an utter failure, and regrets will be too late .Just you wait and see
@jandoerlidoe3412 Says:
these windmills are just green & woke claptrap

Would love to be around in 50 years time when the utterly deluded finally come to they’re senses and realise that it was all a huge ecological disaster and they were conned 😊
@dalejackson684 Says:
Erasmus Darwin solved these problems circa 1810 this government gets rubbish advice and their hubris and self preservation drive complicates simpler and cheaper non big pizza thinking solutions.

The wires are thicker and heavier to handle the renewable power spikes,that's why the towers fell

Too much complexity involved which will result in catastrophic failure of the electricity grid.
@janeausten4483 Says:
Typical of the UN always blaming ordinary people for everything. Destroying the environment to save the environment, that makes sense, NOT.

Keep exposing this environment disaster, Mr Bolt and SNAustralia

Changing the shaft bearings from the main shaft would be a big expensive job too wouldnt it?
@vicstein288 Says:
Where are these wind turbines made? China?
@gdreading9088 Says:
They have s 'life' of only 8 to 10 years . . . And then what. . . And what happens to all that massive concrete base . . . Yes its just left in the ground. Is that environmentaly friendly.

My main concern is the disposal of expired blades and columns, not to mention the generating eqp inside the nacelle. No recycling at all.

WTF was that about? One mention of hot bearings causing a fire, something about the Taliban worried about electricity and some obvious political snipe. Where was the objective substance to the topic at hand? I feel dumber for listening.
@SteveOzBike Says:
In May 2021, an explosion at the Callide power station in Queensland caused widespread power outages. In November 2021, a fire started in the coal distribution facility at the Yallourn W power station. There have been several fires at the Yallourn Power Station in Victoria, including: A scaffold and coal fire in 2014 A minor fire in the crusher house in 2014 A fire in the boilermakers' workshop in 2017
