Parents 'stood up for their children' against critical race theory at Virginia election
BlazeTV contributor Shemeka Michelle says she is proud of the parents in Virginia who 'stood up for their children' at the state election against critical race theory being taught in their schools. Republican Glenn Youngkin defeated Democrat Terry McAuliffe in the state's gubernatorial election after making opposition to critical race theory an important part of his campaign. 'We don't want our children to be taught that their skin colour matters that much,' Ms Michelle told Sky News Australia. 'As a black mother, I don't want my child to think that she's oppressed because she's black, that she'll never get ahead because she's black, no matter how much time and effort she puts into her academics and trying to get ahead in life it won't matter because she's black. 'So I understand why white women would want to go out and say I don't want my white child to be taught that because she's white that she just has all of this privilege or that she's evil and she should just have pity on black children. 'This is what I heard being taught when my children were home during the pandemic.'
