Hobart council votes on William Crowther statue

????

City of Hobart Alderman Simon Behrakis says the 'most appropriate way' to address the removal of the city's William Crowther statue is to retain it but provide an additional plaque referring to the figure's darker history. Mr Behrakis told Sky News Australia we need to talk about the 'darker times in our history'. 'Removing parts of our history is akin to the book burning that we saw last century,' he said. 'I don't think anything good has ever come out of trying to sanitize history in that way.'
